This week has been NUTS and super miraculous! God is totally
in the details and will NEVER leave us alone!
This week we went on exchanges. The first one
was with a Spanish speaking hermana so I was fine but the next exchange we went
on was with a greenie that had been out for not even two weeks and spoke
English. I took the lead in the area and taught in Spanish by myself. I was
TERRIFIED! I have never prayed for God's help so much in my whole life! And the
MIRACLE! was that I was able to understand more than I ever have and talk with
more correct grammar ever. I was bold in contacting and taught, I thought, pretty
well, for knowing a language as little as I do. It was amazing. I can't even
describe it! I felt so empowered of the Lord. He knew that I needed help and to
spread the message to His children in Spanish He helped me out a TON. MISSION
MIRACLES!! Not gonna lie though I'm glad that exchange was over just because I
had to be a trainer for a day. In my head I was just like Forget
yourself and go to work. This is not your time. This is not about you. Its
about the Lord and helping His Children receive eternal salvation through faith
in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, The Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring
to the End. REMEMBER YOUR PURPOSE! It was humbling to say the least. Also training for a day I
didn't realize how much I've learned and trained. It was kinda cool.
Went on another exchange with Hermana I already knew!! So cool! I knew her from BYU and TMF! We had a LOT of fun together
for the couple hours we were together. We've decided she is going to be
greenie-breaking me! WHAT UP! SO FUN if that'd happen!
We went to the temple this week! It was
EXACTLY what I needed!!! II cried. I've never cried but this time I did. SO.
MUCH. KNOWLEDGE!! I loved loved loved it! When I get home I am going to the
temple CADA SEMANA! The San Diego Temple
is GORGEOUS!!! ITs like my 2nd favorite temple. Winter Quarters will always be
my temple though.
We have to do our own finding more in Spanish
work! Its more like the missionary work I thought I'd be doing. We knock a lot
of doors! Yesterday we knocked a door and he was like I want to learn more
about this Book of Mormon. So I explained it to him. And he was like...yeah.
Come back later. You caught me at the right time. I'm usually really busy. But
I really want to learn more. He's got family and friends that are mormon and he
wants to know what they know. SO COOL! MIRACLE!
GENERAL CONFERENCE!! Do you realize how much
of what they said is in Predicad Mi Evangelio?? TONS and TONS! SO inspiring.
Uchtdorf and Oaks just THREW DOWN! AMAZING! President Monson's question
is amazing, "shall we falter or shall we finish?" I never realized
how important the little things of the gospel are. It's when we stop doing those
little things like reading scriptures, going to church and praying that we
start to falter. NO. We NEED to stand strong and keep ourselves Spiritually in
Shape like Elder Maynes said to Endure to the End. Amazing General
Conference.
During the break on Saturday our zone had a lunch but we only get an
hour to cook and eat. Oh Elders. I ended up having to cook for 24 elders and 4
sisters in one hour. I had to keep slapping the elder's hands because they were
so impatient about checking on the food that it was slowing down the cooking
process. Yep. I'm a mom. My comp calls me mom sometimes too. Weird because
technically she is my mission mom...shouldn't it be the other way around?
We are praying to find our ward mission leader
a wife. He is awesome. He lives in the straight up HOOD and walked to an appointment
that's like a 30 minute walk. He is awesome. We are praying to Find, Teach and
Baptize his future wife. We got our District Leader to do it too! :) My comp and I want him to name his daughter after us...we are selfish creatures and
working on it....but doesn't Alexis Niccole sound pretty? GOAL.
I ate goat. Mexican food is good but so weird
sometimes too! I didn't realize it was actual goat until they gave me a second
plate. It takes like roast. But after I found out what it was it was a little
harder to swallow, not gonna lie. But yeah...ate it. I'm a true Mexican now.
We have an investigator that Parkours. I had
to stop myself from laughing!!! I should say that he attempts to parkour.
Everytime he's done it he's gotten hurt and has fallen from a roof. I think its
affecting his brain. Man this kid is FUNNY though. He just eats the Gospel up!
He's only missed one Sunday too. He's gonna get baptized I KNOW
it!
California has a Gopher problem. There's tons
of gopher holes in the ground. All I can think of is "Gopher
Everette?" And I start laughing. My companion thinks I'm a NUT!
So its really happening huh?? You are selling
the house? Weird but that'll be really good! I hope you get the amount you want
for it!
RUBEN IS AT THE ZIMMERMAN'S???? WEIRD!!
HAHAHAHAH SO FUNNY! Way cool though!? Maybs he'll be there for Christmas? I
hope not though. I hope he's in Brazil!
BTW. 6 elders got their visa's in my mission.
Maybe soon but for now I'm doing the work and loving it in CALIFORNIA!
Love you all so much! The Gospel is so true!!
Thanks for all the support! I've got the best family in the world! :)
Love,
Love,
Hermana Zendejas
