Holy Heck I can't believe that its been 2
months already!! Well in like a couple days. I love the work here. Its amazing.
A little disappointing at time like when our investigators don't come to church
or when our less actives tell us that they just aren't ready to go to church.
You know what though? It will come. This church is so true there is no possible
way anyone can deny it. Testimonies come gradually. They will be tried and
tested but the thing I've learned most on my mission is that its the small and
simple things that the Lord asks us to do that will build our testimonies and
convert us to Christ. I've seen it in the short time that I've been out in the
field that as long as we go to church, read the scriptures, and pray three
simple things that we all make excuses for daily, if we just make time like 15
minutes a day. Just 15 minutes it helps our day do much! How much tv or
whatever do people do all day that they can't just relax for 15 minutes to read
and pray?! Anyway. And getting rejected doesn't hurt anymore. I actually think
its really really funny. Its funny you know how people will like cross the
street if there is this big hulking black guy walking in your direction. That's
what happens to us on a daily basis but we're two 20 something year old girls
in skirts with a name tag. There was this man that I said Hi to and he like
puts his head down like he didn't here me and like speeds past. HILARIOUS!
Anyway.
OUR INVESTIGATORS CAME TO CHURCH
YESTERDAY!!!!! I am super happy about that! They only stayed for like 2 hours.
The 2nd hour they met with bishop and left right after that but they at least
made an effort! Poco a poco... LOVE IT!
This week was pretty much the same. We tracted
and visited less actives, in-actives, and part member families. Something that
was a little different this week was that I went on my first exchange! I went
to the Spanish Ward for 48 hours, it was like a double exchange. Anyway. NO
HABLO ESPANOL!!! Holy crap. I was just looking at the Mexicans thinking what
Dad probably thinks when he can't hear someone. "Just smile and nod and
let my companion fill in the rest" Yeah. it was interesting. By the end of
the two days I could understand more but my spanish is absolute rubbish. Its
easy to speak with a companion that is white that I'm with 24/7. I just have to
not be afraid and speak and have the faith that the Lord will help me out. I
did day some things but it was slow and I can only pray 1. that they understood
and 2. It was pertinent to their question.
My comp has had a sore ankle so we
couldn't go running. But oh on the exchanges I did. Holy. Oceanside is HILLY!!
My thighs hurt so bad. I'm walking like a cripple. But I am proud to say that I
did run the whole 30 minutes! And when I say run its more like a slow jog maybe
like a fast walk. Whatever. I did it! Hahaha
We get to play volleyball today!! I'm super
excited. I'm not sure how dearelder.com works now but I sent you the address
in the last email. I'll send it again! I email at a library so I can't print
out your emails but I will try and send letters.
Love you all!
How's everything goin' on at home!
Ruben...Elder Zendejas! How's the MTC?? Is the food getting to you yet?!? Enjoy
it but look forward to the field because its even better?! How's your
district?!
The church is true! I
love the work and the ward I'm in is FANTASTIC! Also...seriously Oceanside is
PARADISE! The weather is always like 80 with a cool ocean breeze. I've seen the
ocean from afar but I want to see it from the beach parking lot. Can't touch
the sand. Exactly obedient and all that AWESOMENESS! Every sunset looks like a
beach resort postcard. I will take pics this week so you can see for
yourself!
LOVE YOU ALL!!
LOVE YOU ALL!!
-Hermana Zendejas!
